My friend and I took 3 buses to get here from SFSU... because I got us lost. Yep. Since Ike's Place was having a power outage (sadface), we decided on eating at another place. We had been starving the entire day and we're ready to become cannibals ): (ahaha...... eh.) He said he felt like eating something cheap and local, so my iPhone pointed us here. The decor of this place is really cool! Chandeliers and dim lighting, definitely my kind of place. It's also very spacious and clean. The workers are very friendly and sharp, the guy got my (extremely) precise order correctly! Woot! I ordered a fish burrito and my friend ordered the pollo asado burrito. The total was supposed to be $13 plus tax, but it somehow ended up to be $19?? What the heck? MINUS ONE STAR! D: We got our burritos after about five minutes and man were they huge! After carrying them for awhile, it started feeling like carrying the flour baby from 7th grade science class... Geebus! My forearm was actually really sore by the time we got back to his dorm, it was crazy! The burritos were filled with tons of stuff, and they didn't fall apart!! This is the first place where I've gotten such a big burrito without having it fall apart, coolio! The tortilla was really thin and was stretched out a lot, so we were very confused on how it stayed in tact... Chemicals, maybe? Oh well, it left us full with half the burritos left. I went through a whole container of green sauce... Awesomeness.

First of all, I can't think of a worse place to spend an evening than the lamest part of the carnival/amusement park/circus. Over-priced games that provide you with about 13 seconds of fun and really crappy prizes that you don't want and are too big to keep anywhere (especially in New York). Upon entry (and being told to take hats off) you proceed to WALK up to the 5th floor and to a semi-chaotic coat check. Inside the unpleasantly dark and loud bar/carnival forces its way into your brain with the fury of a screaming four year old. The waitresses are over their job, the carnies are...well...carnies and the place just oozes sleaze. Hot dogs, pretzels and corn dogs range anywhere from $5 to $8...I didn't stay long enough to find out what cost what. Expensive, loud and completely obnoxious, you surely could find worse things to do in the city...I've yet to find out what that could be...

What a great venue! I went there last night for the first time to see Manic Street Preachers and aside from the band being amazing, I have to give a lot of credit to the venue itself for my overall great experience. First of all, parking was free. How cool is that? There's a lot of construction going on in the area, so I was very thankful for the free lot because I think parking would have been hard to come by otherwise. I believe there are a few lots that are free for WCL guests, but we parked in Lot 1 -- at 3201 Walnut -- which is free after 5:30. We had dinner before the show in the cafe upstairs. It was very cool. There was an interesting band playing, the food was good, the staff was polite, and they had some decent happy hour specials. Pretty awesome. When we got downstairs for the show, we were seated at our own private table (we had bought tickets for a table, which were the same price as GA). You're supposed to spend $20 on drinks/food when you have a table seat, but they weren't pushy about it. We actually did spend that amount since we ate upstairs beforehand (which counts), but our waitress didn't know that because we didn't even bother showing her the receipt since she wasn't trying to push food or drinks on us. Some of us stayed at the table during the show and some of us went into the General Admission area...it's cool that they let you do that. The way the venue is set up, you can really see from wherever you are, which was a major plus for me since I'm short and normally have a hard time seeing. It was definitely a venue unlike any other I've ever been to and I will definitely be keeping an eye on their concert calendar from now on.
