This is such a gorgeous and intimate venue. I am always in awe of the Victorian era details that are so perfectly integrated with the amazing sound system and tech. I went to the Black Francis show last night (seated show) and had a great table and got great service from our cocktail server, Liz. Our drinks were never empty, she even refilled our waters. It always makes it easier to enjoy the show when you're being served well. I love this venue and I hope that it will be a fixture in SF for another 100 years!!!

Visited here for the first time in years a couple weeks ago when my friend offered me a ticket to Califone. Decent beer choices and the menu looks promising; I had the eggplant fries and they're a bar snack I would definitely get again. Decent venue but probably not my preferred place to see a show. (Whoever books for WCL seems to agree with me on that, since they mostly have performers that seem interesting but that I generally wouldn't seek out.)

Tasty treats that are super satisfying after a nice run. Loved the tip to order Nick's style but was bummed at the price difference. You do get a lot of guac for that dollar fitty but it really adds up. Our 5 tacos and juices were over 30. I usually like to spend 15 max at taquerias for 2. I will go back, especially because the salsa is not terrible AND in squeeze bottles for condiment junkies like me. I think I will go less hungry and order less tacos so that I can stay in my comfort zone.
