by Rob S. on I have found the BEST raves and concerts at Opera and the crowd is heavily Gay & Lesbian. Everyone parties together and Opera provides plenty of security in case someone doesn't want to be social, if you know what I mean. All the top DJs play at Opera, and the place is without a doubt, "gorgeous." Awesome sound, lighting, and of course, PEOPLE! You'll be asking yourself, "Why haven't I been here before?"
by Neil Rusch on This place is designed really well and is intimate and has amazing sound. That being said...sometimes this place gets a bit weird for me. 1. I love house music, but sometimes they get WAY too downtempo for a friday night. It's like dude I'm out to have a good time not to fall asleep. 2. It's in meatpacking...satan's den. 3. The clientel that comes in is a bit of a weird mix. You have people that couldn't get into AER or one of those clubs and you have old people and house heads and all sorts of tunnel trash. I dunno....I'd only go here on one of the true house nights during the week.
