by Lisa D. on The prices are astounding: $6.50 for shoe rentals, and $36 / half an hour. For all that, the shoes are still stinky, and it's the same greasy, old bowling lanes.
by Alex S. on Urban bars like this are a rarity in the Flatiron District, too bad someone else can't come up with something similar to give them a run for their money. Situated right next to equally the equally drub bar Rogue, this place can attract lines of young professionals ready to mingle in this hip-hop, raggaeton bumpin bar. The decor is dark, intimate, even comfy in some respects. With all of the couches, tables and random chairs, this place could be a hell of a Starbucks. But throw in the sports on TV and alcohol instead of coffee, you've got yourself Wish 26. Their biggest flaw? Service. The prices are solid and so are the drinks. Even being in a big group isn't enough for some cocktail waitresses to forget and stray to other needy folks. Originally I thought they needed more help, but even on a busy night with 3 bartenders and 3-4 cocktail waitresses, they still somehow failed to provide good service.
by Elenora Schug on The best thing about this place is that the Fri. night I went, they were playing good, dance-able hip-hop music. True, that means a lot of radio/top 40-ish stuff but sometimes that's what you're looking for - esp. if they have this big screen that's playing the music video AND it matches the song you're hearing... even when it's getting mixed/scratched. Don't know how but it's cool. It's got generally the same kind of vibe as any of your avg. meatpacking district-ish places but without as much pretentious exclusivity. Plenty of room too so could be a good choice if you're looking for a dance party.
