Ahhh Rubalad, good times, good times. In case you haven't noticed by the other reviews, Rubalad is this huge party that happens every once in a while which attracts a VERY eclectic mix of people, occurs in several rooms/levels of a warehouse with the most random shit all over the place, and where there are very little rules. Seriously, I once saw a guy walking around nude here; they didn't even care. They charge a $20 cover now, but they never used to. If you're an artsy, fun person or just have an open mind, you'll enjoy it. If you're more of a nightclub, pay $300 for a $50 bottle of vodka person, you won't. Its not for everybody and I wouldn't reccomend going too frequently as thats a sure sign of insanity, but try it at least once as its hard to find a place that does parties like this that regularly. And expect a pretty wild night.

Last night was my first time at Bruno's. I've explored the nightlife in the other neighborhoods in the city, but I am very new to the Mission. My friend was celebrating his birthday here last night, so we drove to the city to Bruno's. Bruno's is located on Mission St between 20th and 21st. There's a huge sign in front 'BRUNO'S' so you can't miss it. We found parking a half block down the street and although we paid $15, it was well worth it since there's only street parking available here otherwise. We arrived a little after 10pm and did not have to pay cover. We found the birthday boy and went up to the bar to get him a drink. I was kind of disappointed since the bartender kept serving the guys who just walked up instead of me and my friend who had been standing there patiently. I believe if there was a dude behind the bar, we would have served faster than we were. We ordered kamikazes to start and they were delicious - very girly, but hey I'm a lady ;) The music is really good - taking it back old school with Notorious Big, Puffy, 2pac, etc. Love it! We walked around and found another bar & dance area - the music was even better there...We ordered more rounds of drinks - including a Grey Goose Pear Flower. I don't know what was in it besides the Goose, but it was yummy! We started dancing and thank goodness for the big fan on the dance floor - it kept me from looking like I went to the gym. Bruno's is cool - the crowd is diverse for sure. I think I would go back with my girlfriends and check out the scene again. Cheers!
