by Amanda G. on Ambiance: It looks like you're in the library of a mansion. Book shelves with old books and candles providing dim lighting, Large mirrors instead of portraits on the wall with overhead lamps. A long bar along one side of the room allows you to sit and enjoy a drink and look around a bit before you're seated at your table. Don't get me wrong though. This place does not look "dated". It's Filled with hip Hollywood men in blazers and women in cocktail dresses & louboutins made me feel pretty out of place. I'm not a Hollywood gal, but I love all things retro and the ambiance here struck a solid middle ground. Food: JIDORI CHICKEN "TAJINE", VADOUVAN, BABY CARROT, FENNEL, CILANTRO, SPICED RICE - the rice was soft and tasty, the chicken moist (thank Goodness). seasoned well. KOBE BURGER, TRIO OF FRENCH FRIES, FARMHOUSE CHEDDAR, "SECRET SAUCE - cute presentation with 3 little cups of fries. Overall: Fun place to dress up and go out w/ your girlfriends (pretend to be SJP for the night). A little too trendy for me to frequent often, but the ambiance was just so noteworthy, it's worth the visit.
by Ward Lautenbach on 3-stars only because it's across a cemetery - the seared ahi tuna I had was great though, but the ambience looking at a cemetery was a bit daunting. Service was pretty good, but it'd be really awesome if there was a different location.
