So I went to Morimoto for a dinner for one of my friends birthday while in Philly. Now, I typically don't spent a lot of money on myself to enjoy a fine meal... but once in a while you have to do it... so after reviewing the menu, I went with $120 Omakase... The Omakase dinner is an eight course meal, first four meals are all cold dishes, next three are hot dishes and the last dish is a sampling for sushi. Inside was nice, color changing tables, etc., granted the lamp on the table was oddly shaped in my opinion, but there are those that disagree with me :) As for the price goes, I'll say it's up there... so expect to spend some money and don't expect a lot of food per plate. The waiter was weirdo, I think he was trying to be funny, but I wanted to slap him... LOL... So as we were finishing up our dinner, guess who walked in through the front door!!!! Iron Chef Morimoto himself... so as we were paying, I asked our waiter if we could meet Chef Morimoto, he told us that he was in his office counting money, etc. and he didn't want to be bothered... man, this guy knew how to piss someone off! I was highly disappointed... As we paid and were about to leave, the waiter came back and told us to stay around, couldn't guarantee anything, but he had put in a word to the chef to visit... now my back was to the kitchen, so I couldn't tell what was happening, but one of my friend sitting in front of me told me the chef was coming... so in the end, we got to take a group picture with the chef... nice way to end the evening! If you are in town visit Morimoto... if its your time time, I would recommend you try the Omakase and if you go back, try other foods... I would highly recommend you make reservation if you can, this will help a lot!

Visited on 3/11/10 I have the ultimate love hate relationship with Webster Hall. I love it because this was the only club that would let me in during my under 21 years. Now am 21 and I find myself turned off by the very young looking crowd, it seemed like I was the only person old enough to buy a drink. It is very big there aren't too many clubs that size left in NY so you can always find room to breathe and in my opinion that is the only plus about this venue. Receiving my coat at the coat check line was extreme chaos there is no security to control the line so everyone is skipping, pushing and there was a fight. I probably will not return to Webster Hall and if you are 21 or over please find somewhere else to go. Leave this place for the kids!!!!!!!!
