by Francina Bedaw on Came here a couple times, actually got in once. First time around was a Saturday night at around 3am for some post-partying. The line was extremely long and manned by your stereotypical d-bag dudes dressed in suits with headsets or walkie talkies or whatever they communicate in to say important stuff like "yea outside right now, got a lot of people in line." Suffice to say, there were some C-level celebs (wait, wasn't she in Family Matters???) and jacked dudes with bright colored v-necks getting in. Okay it's a club in New York where half the fun is the waiting/complaining in line; not shocking. Waited too long, lets move on. Next try was on a Sunday night where a couple of my friends convinced me that they could get in easily. I figured, why not, one knew a bouncer, plausible scenario. I get there and instead, there isn't even a line. Wow, interesting. I walk in and it is lined with dudes on each side. HMMMMM...WAIT A SECOND!! Yea it was gay night. Ha-ha-ha funny prank. About to leave and then decide, at least I should check out what it's all about. Go downstairs where all the action is. The decor is amusing, looks like a rainforest on crack. The music is top 40. Spot a 6'6'' to 6'8'' transvestite towering over people like a big gay Jolly the Green Giant. Overhear a dude propositioning other dudes to go to the bathroom with his slightly confused/reluctant girlfriend (it happens 10 minutes later). Get invited to "party" with a dude who claims he has partied with Charlie Sheen. In comes a girl who must have just come back from a Vegas burlesque show with pasties and her buttocks hanging out. Characters galore. Entertaining for sure. Well worth the non-wait. Let's try to go on a Saturday now...
by Chastity Staker on Anyone who knows, knows I don't even NEED to write this. It's bumpin'. Like, weapon bumpin'. Yeah, sometimes the cover is HIGH (keeps the ones you don't want out), but if you pregame it, then the stuff's FLYING. Rip it!
by Jimmy S. on Even though I may fit in better across the street at hemlock I allways have a good time here. Not much for the club/dance seen and collar shirt wearing yuppy's but am all about a smoking section and fair priced drinks. Good drinks, better bartenders and one of the nicest owners a bar could have. I highly recommend this place and am quit suprised on all the mediocre reviews here.
