by Holli Langmaid on I came here for my birthday over the summer. We decided to go with the tasting menu which I think is the best way to go when dining here since you get a to try so many dishes. Everyone at the table had to agree on the dishes we chose, but they will definitely accommodate for vegetarians in the group. Appetizers, salads, main dishes, and desserts were all great and plating is creative. Cocktails were also all GREAT, but of course more pricey than the norm (typical SBE). They also gave me a birthday card and all hosts and waiters who served us wished me a happy birthday so that was a nice touch.

This place is fun, kitschy, reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly. The room wasn't fancy, but clean and comfortable. Lots of Halloween party noise, but I was in a vodka coma anyways. I think this is my go-to hotel in SF from now on.
by Mafia J. on I wanna like Vertigo but I have yet to have a good time here. Maybe its just the nights that I show up? I been here a handful of times on Friday nights and usually things start off really slow. The good thing about the neighborhood though is that you have plenty of options to bar hop and chill at other places for a while. Now what usually happens when i do that is Veritgo starts to pick up and that place gets crowded like crazy! I mean to a point where you can't move in that mother fucker haha. You can pretty much forget about dancing when it gets like that too unless you wanna be squashed in with a bunch of sweaty dudes and drunk girls that can't dance. So thats pretty much why I don't do Vertigo anymore, just too packed, hot and sweaty when the place shows potential to have a good time. But I can't knock no cover and no dresscode on friday nights. The dudes at the front door are all cool too and you get the stamp on your wrist so you can come in and out whenever.
