by Jacki Gauthier on 3 stars because of the $5 margaritas. Note-they are only on the bar menu. Super Kitschy I had a groupon to Velvet Margarita and it was a great way to try this restaurant. The decor looked as if velvet elvis came alive then vomited. It is all the kitschy crap everywhere. Also the place is freezing. Service was slow because there was only one person working the dinning room. The waitress was very nice and sweet, it just looked like there were a lot of people for 1 waitress to handle. The food was okay, normal. My friend had the mole (she has been craving Oaxacan food for weeks) and did not think it was made from scratch. She also immediately got the runs. This is a girl who lived in Mexico every summer, so her tummy is strong but that mole was stronger. My stomach fared better. The tortillas were good, so were the chips. If I went again, it would just be for the bar.
by Lashawnda Ukosata on I like Little Baobab before it gets super crowded. Head here early for an intimate little dinner with friends before they clear out the little tables for dancing to DJ music. The ginger-infused cocktails are amazingly intoxicating (yes, pun intended). They are unique and delicious. The food is just as good as at Bissap Baobab. If you have more than four peeps in your group, get there early so that everyone can be seated as there is not much seating there. When the DJ starts, this place gets packed, _packed_, fast. Now you understand why all the chairs and tables are taken away. The dancing is pretty good until there's no room to even sway side to side and some inconsiderate couple decides they want to take up the floor doing wild swing moves. I have to take a star away due to the crowd mob effect.
by M C. on Wow, I have never thought that I would eat Ethiopian food in my life. I now know to never say never. The vegetarian and meat plates are the best. It is enough to feed 3 people just those 2 dishes alone. The club part is fastidious. I go there when I need a change of pace. No reservations required.
