by Rocco Orson on Highlights included the fried mac and cheese and the posh atmosphere. By far the most elegant bowling alley I'd ever been too. The decor was grand with dim lighting and retro furniture. The waitresses wore burlesque type outfits, a great crowd pleaser. The furniture, which included three couches and two coffee tables in the bowling area, limited floor space for walking which was a bit of a hassle. The main couch shared by two lanes was covered in stains...ill. Forgetting about being at a bowling alley and enjoying the food was a treat. Potato skin chips with sour cream were perfect, and the fried mac and cheese triangles were the best. Most of the dishes didn't require silverware, including the vegetable platter and the coconut shrimp which were also good dishes, but when it came time to have desert Lucky Strikes provided utensils which were not clean. Both my fork and my knife had crust and water spots on them. Bowling is bowling, but if your going to turn it into a lounge and restaurant, clean your lounge chairs and your silverware.
by Normand Warpool on Loved everything - burger (I had the rBQ), frieds, butternut squash tempura, apple cinnamon martinis, atmosphere. I'm almost tempted to move back to Atlanta just so I can try everything on the menu because it all looked so good. I also appreciated how everything was really pretty moderately priced for the quality. The portions aren't huge but they're filling in a way that won't leave you stuffed. The only reason that I'm giving four instead of five stars is that although the volume of the music didn't bother me, it would definitely bother my parents (old people!). It's a shame because my family would really love the food.
by Chris G. on On Columbus around the corner from 72nd street, you will find this basement latin club. The security is paid to be as rude and ignorant as possible. I didn't have a problem but everyone in front of me and behind me had some kinda beef. $10 cover is standard these days for a club. Happy hour ran until 7PM (2 for 1 drinks) but after that, the prices shot up quick. As in most spanish clubs, the old guys get their grind on early...snatchin up all the pretty ladies that don't mind dancin with an older gentlemen. Later on in the night, there is a live band that plays salsa music. Sound good so far? Why the 2 stars? I'm getting there. This place is a sweat box. The crowd goes real grimy REALLY quick after 11PM. With the exception of the spanish music, the rest is out-dated and not mixed very well. It seemed as if the bartender stuck to the guidelines of drink pouring (in other words, the "short pour") for me even though I was tipping the whole time. If you are a tad more "mature" in age and want to enjoy some latin tunes with a touch of Tribe called Quest, check this spot out for a couple of hours.....AFTER WORK. This ain't the Copa. Younger? Pass. Take your $10 cover to a place more suited to your tastes.
