When I got to the door the bouncer asked me if I was the DJ. I should have taken that as a sign. When I got in it was snoozeville. Bleh ppl and overpriced drinks made me tired. Went there for a young professionals mixer upstairs another time. That was even more snoozey.

It was my first time at Mighty last night and the reason why I wanted to except the invitation to this week's rateclubs Elite event. I rarely will pass down an opportunity to see a venue since I'm relatively new in town and I wasn't disappointed. What I like about this club is that it didn't seem to take itself too seriously. Not to say that the staff doesn't work hard to show people a good time but the overall vibe was really positive. I also liked the size of the place; it wasn't too overwhelming like some of the large "clubs" in NYC or a place like NV, which can just be a nightmare! The bartenders were very cool and that is always a positive, the stage setup was properly place and adequate for a venue this size and the choice of music gave people a couple options which is always a plus. I also noticed some cool artwork and enjoyed the screens above that let me take in some cool images. I'm not too into house music and prefer more trance-like beats so last night was more about taking in the scene and the atmosphere. Will I go back? Well, I may if it's during the week with a large group like last night. However, my clubbin' days are pretty much over and I can only imagine that this place is crazy on the weekends. It's a good venue though and I definitely see the attraction here. P.S. Watch out for the tricky step in the middle of this place...almost busted my a*% a couple times.
