by Elena C. on Okay, first things first. I needed a private moment when I got my first taste of the mac and cheese. Ahem. Best use of $6 ever. Moving right along, my fiance and I went here on July 4th. The city was absolutely empty and we were thrilled that it was open. We had the restaurant to ourselves which meant the freshest possible food. We started out with the side of mac and cheese and a Boston wedge salad. Clearly, my thoughts on the mac and cheese were made clear. My fiance loved it too (after having his hand stabbed with a fork while reaching for a taste). I did taste his salad and it was delicious. Not skimpy on the bleu cheese at all but obviously, my focus was on the pasta. For entrees I had the crispy roasted salmon and he had the empenada special. I believe it was black bean ... and something else. Both were delicious. My salmon was a bit overdone, the skin was burnt on one side, but it was still very good, not dry at all. There were two huge pieces along with three sweet potato pancakes and asparagus. I'm not a huge fan of sweet potatoes but the chive sour cream really helped them along. And the asparagus dipped into the mustard oil was perfection. Overall, we had a wonderful meal. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive. Another touch I loved was the timing of the meal. It would have been very easy for the kitchen to just start cooking everything at once and kind of hurry us along without a thought. But they didn't. Because of the open kitchen we were able to see that they didn't even start cooking our entrees until we were about halfway done with our appetizers. As it should be. I think we're planning on staying in the city every 4th of July. No traffic and no wait at a really great restaurant = one very happy couple.
by Louis Nebarez on MIGHTY!!!! YOU MADE ME MISS MY MORNING FLIGHT THE DAY AFTER TO IRELAND!!!!!! I drank three cran-vodkas and I was drunk! I woke up 20 minutes before my flight and had to pay $200 to take another flight tomorrow! Now, I am home watching Gladiator trying to find an outlet for my vengeance. I had fun though. Can't wait for the next one. Those Cozmo cards are brilliant! -Matt
