by Damon Hernan on I was lukewarm on this venue until a recent show, Chapterhouse, changed my mind permanently, for the worse. The sound was terrible. This is a shoegaze band with ordinarily beautiful, swirly guitar sounds. However, at this venue, even the ear plugs couldn't keep out the grating treble pumping out of the sub-par speakers. Ulrich Schnauss, however, sounded fantastic that same night, prior to turning up the volume to 11 when the rest of the sound system was clearly designed for an 8 at best. Not a bad little venue so long as they don't veer from the standard electronic genre and/or they're showing the Joy Division movies in which sounded and looked pretty good, or they're debuting the latest G-n-R album, Chinese Democracy, but that's something different entirely.

Cons: - BF ran into an old friend who thought it was appropriate to bother us TWICE by interrupting us while we were dancing. Next time, she gets socked. In the face. Being that I was a Leisure virgin during this visit, I'm convinced that this place/event has 5 star potential... and something about it only being once a month makes me want to keep coming back.
by Olen Hilpert on Upon entering this restaurant, I was greeted with lovely artwork pieces that consisted of photographs all along the walls and a museum in the same building complex. http://static.px.Rateclub....This restaurant has ample seating with high ceilings and is great for parties (they have special rooms for larger parties) http://static.px.Rateclub..... The bar area has plenty of seating if you come early and have to wait for your table or party. Seaweed Salad http://static.px.Rateclub.... Not your typical seaweed salad. This one contained various seaweed (some I have never tried before) with fresh pear, fuji apple, and sanbaizu vinaigrette. The dressing was too sour. Lobster Salad Roll http://static.px.Rateclub.... Poached lobster, romaine, cucumber, avocado, and miso caesar. This one was my favorite of the night, but I needed to scrap off every last bit of the miso caesar dressing to add more flavor to my rolls. Spicy Dragon Roll http://static.px.Rateclub.... Shrimp tempura, unagi, avocado, tsume, spicy aioli. Just your typical dragon roll with a big kick (well, for me at least b/c I can't handle too much spiciness). Buri Kama http://static.px.Rateclub.... Sweet soy marinated hamachi collar with ponzu dipping sauce. Very difficult to eat with chopsticks. I had to request for a fork and even with that I wanted to give up and not eat it (I really didn't want my hands to get dirty). It def has the wood burning oven roasted scent, but it was lacking in flavor and not that great. Tip: Don't order this if you are on a date, you'll have trouble eating it without getting a little messy. The dessert menu did not fancy my taste buds, so we left and ventured off for my all time favorite, fro-yo!! They do have a fondue option for dessert though! =) Overall, I hyped this restaurant up so much prior to my visit that it didn't meet my high expectations that I set for it.
