Loft - About Us
In May of 1998 The Loft opened its doors in downtown Billings. While a couple of gay organizations held dances and events from time to time the community wanted a regular place. The Loft was developed to meet that need. The Loft has provided a place for the gay community to gather for socializing, entertainment, and events. Over the years The Loft has become known as a hot spot for dancing with the gay community and with the accepting straight community as well.
In Sept. of 2006 The Loft moved to its current location where our services grew to include a full service casino, sports bar, patio, kitchen, and a dance & show club. The Loft remains loyal to its roots as being the only openly gay club in Billings. Our mission remains the same, to have a place where you can be who you are. Everyone is welcome at The Loft as long as you are respectful of those different than yourself.
The Loft has also provided a venue to help raise thousands of dollars for selected charities such as the Yellowstone Aids Project, the American Breast Cancer Association, the Billings Food Bank, Toys for Tots, as well as other special fund raising events for the gay community. Other events hosted by The Loft include bands, comedians, female impersonators, comedy hypnotists, live cabaret shows, theatrical productions, The Loft Idol Competition, and many popular theme parties.

Once a year our small, little band of Smithsonian staff photographers make our way from DC up to NYC for the PDN PhotoPlus convention. After a reception hosted by Hasselblad at MILK studios in Chelsea one year we asked our hosts what the best local restaurant was within walking distance. They suggested The Park. We've been going every year since that suggestion and its one of the annual highlights of our visit. Good food, great atmosphere (from a photographer's perspective, what The Park has done with lighting in the evening is magical), good service, great friends all combine together to make great memories. Highly recommended!

went for dinner last nite. we attempted to make reservations online, but it said no reservations were being taken for the next 8 weeks(?). we called to see if we could make one over the phone and we were told no. we show up, and the hostess asks "do you have a reservation?:" so i was a little lost by all that. some woman who apparently was higher up said their online system was down @ the moment. we were in line for 2 hours to get a table. we decided to eat @ the bar. chris was our server, and he was a trip! he cracked me up! we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. we each sampled from each other's and they were all delectable. i especially enjoyed the shrimp and crab pasta dish. oh, and the pepperoni & arugula flatbread!
