I came here for the first time last Saturday. I had heard about this place from other people I know, and had seen a couple of other rateclubers I know review it as well, so I was looking forward to checking it out. I got in for free since one of my boys knew one of the promoters, so that was a definite plus. It was a trip being in an art gallery that had a club atmosphere about it. The more I walked around, the more I did like the settings though...probably one of the cleanest "clubs" I've ever been to. There was no dress code on the night that I went, so I did see most of the guys there wearing non-typical club attire. (Just so you know, I was wearing a baseball cap, a track jacket, jeans, and some Nikes, so I fit right in.) Virtually every girl I saw there was dressed up nicely in their clubbing best, and I definitely did not have a problem with that, haha. The DJ's played a range of songs from Usher's "OMG" to Justin Timberlake's "Senorita", but what I really liked was that they ended the night with Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". I don't think I've ever been to a club that played that as its last song of the night, so props to those DJ's. So why the 3-star rating, you ask? Well, I did think 111 Minna was pretty cool, but it kinda felt like it was lacking something. Maybe it was just the crowd that night, or maybe I wasn't buzzed enough, but yeah. Consider this a temporary 3-star rating...at least until I come back with a review update if/when I go to 111 Minna again.

I wasn't that impressed with the mighty. Maybe I'm too old to be wowed by a dance club that's just an empty warehouse with minimal effort to decorate, and not in the cool minimalist way either. And maybe I'm too old to drinking cocktails with pre-made mixers out of plastic cups. And I'm definitely too old to tripping over a step in the middle of an other completely flat main floor, no other steps to other levels unless you count the entrance or stairs in the back. Music was okay. DJs were okay. Not mixing it all that hard. The bartenders were all really nice with no attitude despite the huge crowd and they were putting out drinks really fast, course that isn't difficult when there really isn't anything much to put together. Overall very generic and just a step up for university party places. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't come here again.
