I loved the 80s music, but wished the dance floor was larger! Oh well, it's okay, I was too tired to dance anyway. I was so tired, in fact, that I fell asleep during the Planetarium Show, despite Jonathan W.'s squishes to my cheeks when I dozed off. Each time, I woke up and went right back to sleep, to the soothing voice of the narrator. It was really cool though; the screen stretches across the domed ceiling of the theater, giving you the feeling of actually being in the scene. We took a visit to space and the beautiful twinkling stars sprawled out above me...and then I passed out. Zzzzzzzzzz. Awesome experience regardless. The seats were very comfortable; perfect for reclining. We also went to the living rooftop, which looked very furry. I felt like I was going to freeze to death, and quickly peered into a telescope (nothing special) before heading back in. Some other stops included the rainforest, where we saw frogs that looked like delicious gummies ( http://static1.px.rateclub...), frogs that looked like Spidermen ( http://static2.px.rateclub...), and other less remarkable creatures. The albino crocodile ( http://static1.px.rateclub...) was kind of interesting though. We also visited the gift shop and wore stuffed animals as hats ( http://static3.px.rateclub...). All-in-all, Nightlife was an interesting experience, but not really my kind of thing because I'm more of a cute fuzzy animal person. Not too into bugs, reptiles, amphibians, and the like. If they had otters or penguins (like in the giftshop) I'd be happy. For those who are looking for eye candy, there are plenty...lots of glamorous women, at least, walking around in high heels and cocktail dresses looking at bugs. It's a weird sight to behold. (I hear drinks are expensive...oh and the cost of a ticket is $10)

How have I not been here before? Thanks to Kathleen M for planning the trivia night that brought me here! Three of my favorite things in a restaurant: tater tots, High Life on draft, and they take Discover cards. Who could ask for anything more? I met the early crowd and joined them in staking out what seemed like the entire right side of the restaurant. This brought some very dirty looks from the dark-glasses-flannel-shirt wearing crowd, who must have been the regulars, since their eyes said "who are those people and what are they doing at our tables?!" Service was prompt, and the waitress kept the beer flowing and food coming the whole night. She even separated our checks (remember our orders, too!) without prompting. Guys also take note - she was physically qualified to work at Hooters, but she was way smarter about how she worked "the girls" to get good tips without being an obvious ditz about it. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with tots. Everyone was talking about how generous the portions were, but I thought mine was just right to feed my grumbling stomach. The mustard sauce was good with the tots, but I'll stick to my classic ketchup and mustard mix. The wrap was good and spicy, and not too much blue cheese so that it left you with the spicy taste in your mouth, instead of the fatty dressing taste. Only reason to take it down a star is definitely the smokiness. So if you're a chimney - go here to light up, you'll be in good company. But if it makes you sick, go early, before it gets crowded. And we rocked at trivia. Can't complain about that. Can't wait to go back to claim our $25 tab!

If I can give this place no stars, I would. We have lived in the Washington Square neighborhood now for 10 year and went there exactly twice. We always give a place a second chance. The food may have been passable about 20 years ago, but with the proliferation of very high quality and cheap Chinese restaurants (for authentic Cantonese outside of Chinatown, I would recommend New Trend Eatery and the Kantin both in Brighton and for traditional Szechuan go to Shanghai Gate in Allston or Shangri La in Belmont), the food is just not authentic and the quality was just poor. We ordered the Peking Duck and it was a total disaster, the duck and the skin were dry as wood chips and the pancake that went with it was as thick as a... "pancake". It should have been thin, moist and translucent. I do not know how this restaurant survives. The real tragedy is that this horrible restaurant occupies such a great location... Unfortunately, the owners of the place also owns the real estate.
