by Rob L. on I was just here for a grassroots fundraiser event for a very good cause. Their raspberry-lemon drops taste very juicy with only hints of alcohol, perfect for those who don't like the taste of alcohol and modestly priced as well! There's a backroom with a piano, where events can be hosted with live music. The event I attended had a great guitar player who rocked the room that night. We're all on "solid ground" after that performance! This is a great casual place for happy hour, to spend some quality time with buddies, or just a place to stop by after work for a drink!
by Allen Arriaza on For a busy college student, it's a little hard to find good nightclubs in Brooklyn. There are a few, but most of them are 40-and-over, stuffy and strictly populated by only one ethnicity or another, not really leaving much room for diversity. Thankfully, there's Adam's Lounge. The place is everything a dance club/bar should be for young people. Open, friendly, and comfortable. The sitting area is littered with comfy couches and coffee tables. The bar is awesome. The dance floor is spacious, with great lighting effects. The DJs are friendly and cool. There's a small coat check off to the side, and even a little VIP area. They make very good use of their space, to say the least. If I had any gripes about Adam's Lounge, it would be that it's primarily a hub for the Brooklyn College Greeks and their parties (booty contests and all) - which isn't necessarily bad...it just means that while there WILL be people your age, but they're likely there as part of a tight clique and won't really socialize beyond it. On non-Greek-party nights however, it's a very relaxed setting. I wouldn't go there with the goal to meet people though, because my second gripe is that so few people actually know about the place. Overall it's best to go with someone you already know, and just enjoy the setting for what it is. I'm pretty sure the door charge is $2 (for ladies at least), but they may change it on party nights. Coat check is ~$3.
