I've been to Jillian's maybe 30 times, usually to watch soccer games. In general, the service is ok. The food is so-so. Be warned: They do not have any vegetarian food. They can bring you some salad, if you ask though. I would give 3, or maybe even 4 stars. However, my last experience this week have made drop another star: I went there to watch the World Cup game, Spain vs. Germany, the most exciting game of the tournament. And if course, the place was packed and they were understaffed. So, lesson #1: If you're claiming that you're a sports restaurant/bar, you should follow the schedule. It was obvious for almost a week ago that there was going to be a very popular game on that day. When I got there with my friend, we saw that a bunch of people are waiting in the line, at the entrance where there was no TV, even though there were empty tables inside and the game had already been started! So, lesson #2: If you're claiming that you're a sports restaurant/bar, you should know that people come to there to watch the games! If I want good food, there are plenty of other restaurants around. Why do you torture people who's dying to watch the game? How hard is it to make people sit first, and then provide the service? So, that's exactly what I asked to the waitress at the door: Why don't you let people sit down first, so we can start watching the game, and then you can serve us. And my voice was not loud or anything, but maybe a little frustrated. The respond I got was "sir, why are you yelling at me?" I doubt she knew the meaning of "yelling". So, lesson #3: Accusing customers is not good service. At least you can say something like "we're sorry, I'll see what I can do" etc. So, the last time I was there, they made me feel frustrated and bad. They need to understand the mentality of the sports audience if they wanna get more rating.

Pretty, slightly upscale but friendly no attitude mini-mega club. Quick drinks reasonably priced, big dance floor and stage, decent sound and light. Feels a lot like New York or Chicago, so incogneto the taxi driver hasn't heard of it and no sign on the warehouse space just a sleek red light and a roped off smoking section. Your experience all depends on who is promoting and playing that night but it's one of those places where you're glad it's happening there instead of one of the clubs along Folsom or Mason.
