by Karl H. on As a music venue, Webster gets 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, it's an awful club, so it only merits 2 stars. Crowd -- Meh. I went with some friends because they were 19 and this was the only place they could really go. Music -- Nick Cannon DJ-ed for several hours, making the whole experience worth it. He played some excellent covers of old fav's like "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch," some bon jovi, etc. Drinks -- Awful selection for obnoxious prices. Don't ever pay $9 for a Heineken (better yet, never drink Heineken).
by Kira Ausby on It was a Saturday night and the girls wanted a night on the town. How can I say no to a GNO??? As we prepped with our usual Parrot Bay Rum and Diet Coke in red cups, we spent at least 30 minutes in the parking lot just chatting it up and catching up on boy stories. I think that is the best part of the night. We finally stumbled out of the car already feeling the affects of the alcohol. Woo! The night is still young. I was able to get us on a list that prevented us from waiting in line, but not necessarily from paying the $15 cover. I guess it's better than waiting out in the freezing cold. As we entered the club, it wasn't that crowded. There was mixture of people all around. Upstairs was the hip-hop room and a couple of bars. Credit card purchases had a minimum of $40! WTF?! The main dance floor downstairs had electronic music. We found another room down there that played some hip-hop and top 40s music. Nothing out of the ordinary. We chilled for a while and people-watched. There was the out-of-control girl dirty dancing the night away, the couple who probably just met and was sucking face right next to us, and tons of guys way under my age cut-off. Oh wait! There was one thing that shocked us a bit... while we were enjoying our grey goose and cranberry drinks, and old couple was getting their groove near us. And I don't mean old-ER couple... i mean OLD... like grandpa and grandma. WTF was goin on there?? I guess they deserved a night out on the town as well?! The rest of the night was filled with more grey goose and cranberry and lots of fun with the girls. By the time we left, we were starving and ended up sharing a $4 bacon-wrapped hotdog since that was all the cash we had left. Good times as always! http://www.rateclubs.com/bi... by Mitsuko Bjerk on What is it about the Park that I simply hate to love? -I'm not too enthusiastic about the crowd, although i rarely ever pay mind. -Doesn't ever get too crowded....wait.. I'm actually complaining about this? -Certain floors have way too much lighting -Top floor, best part about the park, love it... but it gets too damn hot & stuffy -NEVER encountered shady guys here yet...so maybe that's the best part.... -ok.... no Christiania or Ciroc.. WTF this is NEW YORK people! Hmm.... do i love to hate? No, not really. the Park is like my constant, steady flow of entertainment. I can never really get bored here...and at the same token, I know I can never go too crazy here either. So when I'm in between moods.... this is the place I'd probably run to.
