OMG  I met and friend and came here for lunch.  The photos online are accurate.  It is very pretty, very inviting.  The end. We ordered the same dish.  Pasta w/spinach, white beans, roasted peppers.....the dish had water at the bottom.  The spinach looked like sprigs of grass and only four blades...the white beans were broken and the roasted peppers were soggy/ red thin slivers of of the peppers. Ugh....and $16 EACH!  Who is in the kitchen??? Certainly not a chef.  If there's a chef there he probably getting less then minimum wage.  I had reservations for 7 people come Monday. I just finished making reservations elsewhere.  Oh, the bathroom is old and nice, but if you can't walk stairs, you're out of luck.  I don't usually give bad reviews, but I couldn't stay quiet here.  To think we were such a short distance from my favorite restaurant Omai. Oh.The hostess was extremely nice and the waiter was nice but never came to the table until I asked for the check.  I still gave 20% but it could have been better (not the hostess, she was nice)

The great uniter! Webster Hall was at one time solely responsible for bringing all sorts of people under one roof. Well it still does that except now the different people come on different nights to listen to different genres of music. I remember the main floor to be sprawling from my first visit back in 2007 where I saw the pop-rap group Gym Class Heroes perform. They were fun. And we had fun but I was really cognizant of the space because there weren't a crapton of people there. A weeknight as well as an underground artist equals a little less of a to-do at the door. I had my ID checked twice but there was a green wristband handed out and that was the end of it. The staffer at the door explained to one of the event organizer that there was no need to stamp since they weren't "expecting that many people." Doors opened on-timeish. I stood outside near the door, one of the first to arrive. I'm used to live shows being a little more ruthless but this one was so chill and I was the only one who got slightly indignant when two people came up the block and tried to be the first to get in. To the other early arrivals there was no rush. It was all love, I guess. But don't come up to the door and ask, "Are we first?" when you see people queuing up. I really wanted to dance. There was a great space. Perfect for the artist and for showing off some moves. Instead I took mental notes from the chicks winding it up to reggae. I flew solo to the event and didn't drink though the drinks were cheaper than the Gym Class Heroes show. Perhaps reflective of the recession, but 5 bucks is very reasonable. Had I not been there by myself, I might've imbibed a bit. But it looked like the alcohol was flowing and doing it's job because people loosened up right along with the spinning of DJ Melo-X and were ripe for the transcendent performance of Theophilus London (1/26 'This Charming Mixtape!'  Cop That!) The Studio is hipster central. Loved it, ate all the tragically cool moments up with both hands and a spork.

What is it about the Park that I simply hate to love? -I'm not too enthusiastic about the crowd, although i rarely ever pay mind. -Doesn't ever get too crowded....wait.. I'm actually complaining about this? -Certain floors have way too much lighting -Top floor, best part about the park, love it... but it gets too damn hot & stuffy -NEVER encountered shady guys here yet...so maybe that's the best part.... -ok.... no Christiania or Ciroc.. WTF this is NEW YORK people! Hmm.... do i love to hate?  No, not really.  the Park is like my constant, steady flow of entertainment.  I can never really get bored here...and at the same token, I know I can never go too crazy here either.  So when I'm in between moods.... this is the place I'd probably run to.
