Seeing as I dj here every saturday night, I might as well write a review. I'll start with the bar staff. Silk has the quickest, friendliest, and most patient bar staff in the biz. The sound system is very powerful and can fill the dance floor with ease. Silk City is where I got my start as a dj many moons ago. I was lucky enough to continue djing here after it change ownership hands. If you come to dance on a Saturday night, you will currently have a $2 cover charge for girls and a $5 cover for guys. This door policy is soooooooooo beneficial to a great dance floor. The main reason being is it keeps the goofballs whom just want to stare at girls and do NO dancing OUT. Which is what we want. So, if you're looking for a place to shake your stuff on a Saturday night, I personally invite you to Silk City. I'll play anything from The Supremes to the latest Beyonce cut. Say hello to me, and give me a request, and I'll do everything I can to play it for you :)

I love Club Waziema. I don't know what it is - the fact that it's a block away from home, its cozy bar/pool table lounge atmosphere, the delicious Ethiopian food washed down with a Hakim Stout, the friendly staff, or the friendly customers. It must be a combination of all of the above. What I love about this place is its no-pressure atmosphere. I can come here and start with a great dinner, move on to drinks, play some pool, catch up with friends, on any given night of the week. Thank you, Waziema, for just being awesome.
