I LOVE this place. Carman's is a small neighborhood Gem. The food is only rivaled by the service. The small staff tries to really get to know the customers and after your second visit don't be surprised if they know you by name. The menu changes every week (on Saturdays I think). There are always 4 things on the menu: Pancakes, French Toast, an Omelette, and some type of meat or seafood. The twist is that you never know what these things will be paired with. Carman (the owner) runs the kitchen and makes everything herself. She comes up with the most spectacular dishes. I try to go there several times a month and I'm never disappointed. Things to keep in mind: 1.Cash only 2.They don't require reservations but its always better if you call ahead, bc the place is so small and there really is no waiting area inside. 3.There is no kids menu or kid sized servings, though there's always pancakes or french toast on the menu. The decoration is also colorful and adult (think a mug with boobs on it set on a shelf) . I took a child here and have seen other children here, but if you are the type of person to be offended by that sort of thing then leave the children at home. 4.For a special treat Carman's also has a pickup truck that sits outside which has a picnic table and chairs seated in the flatbed of thee truck. If you call in advance you can reserve this seat and sit there. I think it can fit about 6 ppl.

I've been to Ella few times and each time has been a great experience! I organized a little get together last night and the managers were fantastic. As soon as we were settled, they made sure to check in on us, and all of our friends were able to get in, despite the line. Our waitress, Heather, was awesome. She was so accommodating and so friendly. Anything we needed, she was there! I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking to have a great time with friends; be it an occasion or just your average night.

I should start this review with a disclaimer that I am not a HUGE fan of "clubs" but will venture to them every once in a while, usually with friends who have set the destination for the night. This is exactly the reason why I ventured to The Estate for a friends birthday night on the town. I was a bit excited to try somewhere new in Boston, but after reading reviews on here, as I am a rateclubs addict, I was a bit nervous. I wasn't overly impressed given the fact that The Estate paints itself as being a swanky and classy place, I did not find it to be either... Drinks: $6 for a beer, $8 for a plastic glass of wine (which by the way was the most watery and disgusting glass of Chardonnay I've ever tasted) and between $8-10 for a mix drink (which when I tasted a friends was also extremely watery) I thought they were known for STRONG drinks? Surroundings: It definitely is decorated in a fun & funky way, a little Moulin Rouge looking with the red curtain and the circular balcony looking down on the dance floor, but it was a bit awkward at one point having to climb up and over and then jumping off a partition to get off the dance floor. On the dance floor... I was a bit surprised by all the balding men on the dance floor (no diss on the balding, but I thought this was a place for the younger mid-twenty guys & gals) Overall, the place has a LOT of wear and tear, like holes in the leather couches and everything was sticky, gross. Music: DJ JD not too bad, music could have been a bit louder at times... but the song choices and mixing was decent Staff: RUDE, that is all. Cover: I got in free that night, but cover is usually $20 (coat check is $3) I suggest searching online for promoters doing promotions on different nights, get on the list and get in for free or at least for under $20... it's not worth paying that price tag to get in, trust me! Overall, The Estate is just another club, nothing special.
