by Jeanett Seabert on This is for draft beer only. The venue is great, but i had the two worst draft beers in my life here. I ordered an anchor steam at the downstairs bar and could not finish it. I think this is the only beer in my life i have not finished. it tasted like a moldy bicycle inner tube. I went upstairs to order a Lagunitas IPA (i am a beer localvore) and same damn thing. It was the second worst beer i have ever had.. GAMH clean your beer lines, they are horrible!! Don't drink any beer on tap at GAMH!
by Verlene Island on Went here for Bhangra night. That's right. Bhangra night. They played Indian music all night and we danced to it. They even offer lessons if you get there early enough (I think around 7). The venue was nice. Not too big, not too small. They have a stage where people can shake it. I am only giving them three stars because I do have to point out that they are also a bit expensive considering- around $17 at the door (cheaper with a flyer), $5 for coat check, and $11 per drink (which was served in an 8oz PLASTIC cup - classy, right?).
by Sarah D. on Despite mixed reviews from all over, a group of crazy girls out for a bachelorette party decided it was worth the good reviews to try it out. We showed up around 11 and was just starting to get busy. There was a little bit of a line outside but no trouble getting in, which was nice. They did let our bride-to-be in with no cover which was nice, and it was $10 for the rest of us. Nice decor, nice lighting and the drinks (while on the higher side $$) were good. We immediatley headed straight into the VIP dance section (oops..dont tell anyone-- though no one in there seemed to mind) and quickly were swallowed up by lots of sweaty guys doing the "poke dance" (you know ladies...the one where they "poke you in the back"..."poke" you in the front....) The music was okay...a good selection but the mixing was a little off (in my not-so-experienced expertise. One of the girls who was a hard sell on the place said he was cutting each song too short and totally destroyed a michael jackson song...is that possible?!) We probably stayed there too long, so after too many drinks and to much dancing the (way-too-bright) lights came on and we saw what everyone really looked like... Overall...it was a great time. It was packed with more good-looking people than not. Though my friends got yelled at by some jerk in the VIP section, (he had no problem doing the "poke" dance with the girls, but when they accidentley sat on "HIS" couch...he started screaming at them...needless to say they gave it right back) the drinks, dancing and atmoshpere was worth the $10 bucks to get in. I would say...go around 11 but leave before it closes...i think there are better places to end your night...
