by Melissa Struthers on The upside: Every staff member apologized very well and in a genuine way. The downside: Every staff member did something they needed to apologize about. The hostess was clueless that we walked in, but once she noticed us we were seated right away. It took another 10 minutes to meet a waiter, and he wasn't even our waiter. At this point, his tip was down to 15%. By the time I actually met our waiter we had spent enough time with the menus to know what we wanted. I got the Raspberry Turkey wrap with fries. Not much raspberry, and everything tasted like they just got it from the Kroger deli counter. I wasn't expecting homemade, but when eating out I expect something I can't find at the grocery store. Not to mention that considering the potato famine was in 1850, I think you could afford to give me a few more fries on my plate by now. Tip down to 10%. But wait, I can't decide the tip for myself?!? I guess that's the drawback of using the free entree coupon I got in Savvy Shopper - the waiter put on an automatic 18% grat. on. I guess if you think you know my gratitude already you can be to busy to help me. FInal upshot: he kept my water glass full all night, and they have a machine in the back where you can play frogger. Next time, drink and eat somewhere else, sneak into the back and play Ms. Pacman.
by Karoline Tridle on BOOTIE Eevryone knows this as one big ass saturday night "MASH-UP" DJ party. There was no line to get in. The security were simply asking for ID. The inside 1st floor dance floor was packed. 2nd floor not so much, thank god. The bartender poured me a humongous "green chartreuse" on the rocks. As we all pay 9 dollars for top shelf liquor at clubs the amount he poured was the biggest I have ever received. Maybe not a lot of people order it or heck, even know about it. 120 proof and tastes better than Fernet. I see some of those heavy metal/goth type parties they have here which I will stay away from, but for bootie, who and the hell would wanna pass it up?
by Joanne L. on my german friend introduced my korean self to this place. i felt cognitively dissonant at first at being the korean girl who didn't know about this place with the white guy. but that was quickly changed after the first 2 whiskeys. i like the city-ness of its being housed in an office building. and you can see the empire state building. so that's cool.
