part two of my cousins bachelorette party night. i really didnt know what to expect because ive never been to a strip club before. i was holding out for a girls only vegas trip :) anyway, my cousins friends had planned this night, so she was totally unaware of what was up next after dinner. i have never even heard of hollywood men and didnt know where it was, and was surprised when we arrived at highlands club. (see my review on Highlands... ghetto!) dinner had run late so we were late for the show. i think it was like $35?!? we were seated in the last table to the left of the stage in the front, which really wasnt too bad. one of the "waiters" came by, with just black dress pants and a bow tie and muscles and asked what we wanted to drink. my cousin was the only one who wanted a drink and i didnt want her to drink alone, so i ordered whatever she got. i think yager and redbull. $12 each?!?!? gaddamn and it ended up being so watery, like a cup of water, with a splash of redbull and splash of yager. oh well. oh and apparently you're suppose to tip them by putting the dollars in their pants.... hahahaha i got a "thanks baby" ahahahah anyway, i couldnt stop laughing the whole time though. all of the "skits" or whatever were so corny, like a bad porno story line. not that i know what those are like. the guys were good looking though and had nice bodies, but im not into those ones with long sweaty hair and trench coats. they looked exactly like the comic The Punisher, if you know what i mean. hahahaha and the other hilarious thing was that the ladies in the audience were going crazy!!! they would scream at every hip thrust. really?? ahhaha some of the "waiters" come by and drop ice down your cleavage when you're not looking hahahaha and towards the end all the guys come out onto the stage and do a whole dance number together. well not really together because they were not "in sync". i usually find it hot when guys dance, especially a group of them and they're sharp and dance together. (example Jabbawockeez ---- HOTT)blah, when these guys dance together, it could be better. they look better when theyre by themselves. doing some ghetto booty shaking. hahahahaha anyway, then they come down into the audience and give girls lap dances. i saw this one girl even getting this dancers number, while he sat on her lap! omg ahahahahha it was an experience!

Came here for a special house night featuring DJ John Digweed. I was excited because I don't party downtown quite enough and I have heard good things about this venue. The first thing I will say is that the security is another level. Not only was I patted down like I was crossing the border ("whoa buddy, that's all me there relax"), but I also walked through a metal detector to insure I was weapon free. I suppose I appreciate the added safety measures though it can tend to be a bit of a buzzkill. The interior is LARGE. Reminds me a lot of Avalon in Hollywood but nicer and cleaner. There's a huge entryway leading to a main room where the musical acts are playing and there is plenty of room to dance without feeling too suffocated by large crowds. There is a second floor lounge area with bathrooms as to give you a break from the big room which is a nice touch. The smoking areas run along the alleys beside the building and give a cool quieter area from the insanity going on inside. I do like the old school theater feel to the place. You can tell it's an old building with a lot of history but definitely well kept. Like most super clubs in LA, the drinks are expensive but depending how well you tip your bartender they will hook you up with some strong "pump you up" Arnold style drinks. Just a note: I heard they have a phenomenal salsa night here so if that's more your style, check it out.
