by Harland Mend on How have I not reviewed Trudy's yet?? There are way too many Tex Mex choices in Austin and when you rank all the various places based on food Trudy's will not come in first. Nor will it come in third. I would put Trudy's in Top Ten, but this is only because of stiff competition. My recommendation for food at Trudy's is to try the specials they have because here you will find unique, flavorful dishes whereas the menu merely has the same ole' same ole' for the most part. Of course the reason for coming here is the Mexican martini's. Love, love, love them!!!!! There are others in town who also make Mexican Martini's but nobody touches Trudy's. Go on Monday's when they are $5. This place is an Austin Must so don't miss it!!
by Erik Sebo on Homeless parking attendants promising to "watch" your car - Check Ass up face down trash dressed in minidress - Check Fuckin' predictable DJ's who preface each song with a teaser - Check Guys groping my azz like it's up for sale - Check The guy asleep at the bar with his head tilted back and drool pouring out of the corner of his mouth - priceless!!! This place is ghetto..I don't know why it says "sexy, intimate and upscale' on the website. On Fusion Friday, there was only 1 room open, too. $15 at the door was way too much to pay to feign off greasy, disgusting pigs all night, too.
by tom h. on I could go either way on this one.......yes, it is a freak show at times.......but, you have to love that there are places like this in the world. I remember being there noonish on a Sunday with a group of friends. I tell my buddy Johnny that "this place is full of weirdo's" and he leans over to me and tells me "We are those weirdo's".......I have not be back since!
