by Shantel Creselious on If you drive by too fast, you are bound to miss it, the big pink & black "VMC" sign which hides the best bar in Hollywood. Parking is a bitch, but this part of Hollywood, that's expected. When I arrived on a Friday night, the bar is dark with black velvet walls, and lit with blue projections of tarot cards and pink lights. To the left, you will see seats, including some high back booths. To the right, is the bar, where most of the foot traffic is. But keep walking to the back to take notice of the rock star reliefs lit by candles. In the back is the patio, which is the highlight of the bar. A mural on the wall is wonderfully lit and the DJ was playing Lou Reed to James Brown that night. At the bar in the patio, with cute x-mas lights, I ordered a soda. The guy was very helpful and offered me a new soda beverage. Now that's great salesmenship. My friends were back at the bar inside, where they were drinking from coconuts. Gotta say, the only thing missing from the place is a serious disco floor, but that aside, the cantina is great. Be sure to check it out.
