Oh No. Noooo..... Been here last night, as a 'club' night... Didn't dine here... It took us about 1 - 1.30 hours to get in, despite being on a list-thing. The bouncer was just being awkward... Finally in.. Ohh MATE I want out... This place is like a back yard filled with a ton of bodies.. All pushing and shoving and stumbling everywhere, Ohh DEAR ME, ages to get to the bar (only 3 types of beer?? Really?? ) and when I finally did it "only" took 30 minutes to be served... MMM Everything about this place was so disappointing... So typical Hellywood... What a shame (Telling you, nothing beats a good ol Live Metal/ Rock show!!) :/

There is something mysterious about the Green Door.  There was a long line outside, and I thought this was going to be one of those wait-outside-forever Hollywood nights - you know the ones.  Low and behold, my friend had all the right connections, so they snuck us all in the side door, which made me very happy.  As we went through the entrance, I felt a bit of deja-vu, as the club looks a like some of the great clubs I have been to in Poland, Germany, Sweden and Spain.  There is an old mansion theme, replete with portraits of old people on the wall - strangely like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, but not so cheesy.  There is also an outside patio area, where you can escape from the din inside.  The crowd is a crazy hodgepodge of different people, which I like.  The drinks are a bit pricey, and the DJ wasn't bad at all, spinning a mixture of danceable music.  And most of the people weren't pretentious at all - a little click-ish, but generally not stuck-up for a change.  All-in-all, I have to recommend this place.

I used to come here kind of regularly when I was a youngster.  I worked downtown in the evenings and I'd come here after a hard few hours of sitting at a reception desk doing homework while people took classes.  Sometimes I'd have to adjust the temperature in a room or answer a phone.  Brutal. So when I went by the other night, I thought I would recognize it immediately.  But when I got downstairs, it didn't look familiar at all.  It's possible I was already kind of done those other times since we usually started the night at Lucky 13 but I'm still kind of shocked by my absolute lack of recall. Anyway, it's a small initmate space and unless you're under one of the ceiling fans, it can get pretty hot.  I didn't make it to the gym before the show but I think I sweated out some calories just standing there.  The sound seemed a bit off to me because I couldn't make out all the lyrics but maybe that was intentional.  The wait at the bar was not bad and I had a nice Abita Amber to cool me off for a bit. I think I'll be back before another decade passes.
