I wish I could say I liked Lime. There are so many social pressures encouraging me to say "Yes, I liked it"...but really, I found it annoying, obnoxious and chock-full of really bad food. And this was AFTER several bottomless mimosas. The guys wearing their sunglasses on their forehead, the ladies too sloshed to visit the restroom, the thumping base and 'crammed to the gills with no way out' crowd was not exactly a turn on. All of that might have been ok and even fun in an over-the-top way if the food had been good. However... My huevos rancheros was served on an appetizer plate, with 2 pathetic flour tortillas and a paste that might once have been black beans. The miniscule dab of guacamole and salsa on the eggs was supplemented by a vat of ketchup (really?) but no additional salsa/guacamole/sour cream. And my neighbor waited an extra 10 minutes after the rest of the table had been served for her entrée. My take was that Lime relies heavily on their barely OJ-tinted mimosas and high-energy club music to hide a multitude of sins - including bad food and indifferent service. I'm glad I went, because I will not be back.

I was here for the first time last night seeing Lady Gaga. The venue was great... Not too large, but not too small. The show felt intimate even when I was all the way in the back getting my boggie on. There's an upstairs that I hear has comfy seating, but I never made it up there. The bathrooms were large, clean, and I only had to wait in line for about a minute, nwhich is crazy amazing for the ladies room at a sold out show! They also have a coat check, which is nice especially when it's freezing outside and you'd have to be an Eskimo to not bring a jacket. The crowd was also pretty cool, but that could have just been all of the amazing Lady Gaga fans (she was awesome just in case you were wondering). Another great thing is that it's pretty close to Union Square so if you happen to get out of a show early there are lots of bar/food options to hit up. Oh, and the sound system was great. Loud, crisp, and clear! The only negative things were that the show started super late and there is a beam in the middle of the floor that makes it kind of hard to see the stage depending upon where you're standing. Overall, my experience at the Mezzanine was great and I would definitely go back!
