went here for my 21st birthday dinner. we had a reservation at 10 and we didn't sit til close til 11:30. our party was for 8, so i understand with a larger group we might have had to wait but seriously.. an hour.. we wandered around the top floor which was uncomfortable crowded, a shot of patron was $17. UGH. since we were on a timed schedule with other reservations at bars, clubs and a driver i was extremely upset. i got stressed really fast and ended up not even eating that much but drinking mucho.. getting a buncha small plates. the service is nothing to scream about, the food saved them from being 1 star but i'd never come back here again. disorganized, lots of noise.. for nyc there is somewhere else that will offer you a better time.

It's like the hipster cave of wonders. Not in the bad way. Red wall paper, strange wall tile, almost erratically placed candles flickering in more nooks and crannies than even a searching eye could notice... and Spiderhouse-esque mismatched chairs and knick-knacks fill up the place. The red wall paper with the soft lit glow warming up the wall and stretching feeble rays against the weighty darkness make you feel enclosed. A dark feeling, a nice dark feeling. The menu is the perfect compliment to the clientele. Austin's version of the noveau-riche. Basically artists with cheap rent that finally got around to that day job. Young, somewhat interesting people that can appreciate a well developed beer and fairly impressive wine list. Long gone are the days of Taco Cabana, these people want charcuterie and cheese plates and dishes that make you blink twice when you read their names. "Curry Grits." It looks like small and messy and almost dirty in that deteriorating eastside way, but at the same time, like there's not a hair out of place. So basically what I'm trying to say is... Did I just dine in Mary-Kate Olsen?

My friend and I were here to see the Saturday night Sara Bareilles performance. The venue is warm and charming. It's located on Market street, very close to Castro and very easy to get to. The venue serves food before the show and if you are one of the lucky few (like we were) you actually have the opportunity to get a table right in front of the stage, and sit there during the entire performance. The food and drinks are delicious and very reasonably priced. This place is highly recommended.
