If you want a place that has people who look like they went to a Jersey Shore casting call but were rejected than this is the place for you! Based on the reviews I thought this place wouldn't be as cheesy as it was.

I've been coming here since I moved from San Francisco three years ago and it's always a reliable lunch and dinner decision. Whenever I have visitors in town, I take them here for a "taste of the South", which isn't really accurate since the only things truly "Southern Southern" about this place is the collard greens and cone bread, which I've grown to love. This past summer, they had this amazing lunch special - $7 sandwiches. They had catfish, pulled pork, and holy cow, so good. I think one week, I came here three times! I kept making excuses to come back - business lunches, recruiting lunches, just me lunches. Worth it. One thing that has become a staple of theirs is the she-crab soup, which is pretty good but I have to say they really set you up with high expectations. "That's all I have to say about that." Like I said, the cone bread is good. Corn.

Starr knows how to make good look restaurants. The food: Brunch is best here...getting it "family style" and sharing is helpful cuz a lot of the plates served are "fancy portioned" (small) i like the pancakes, lobster mac...and a bunch of other stuff I don't remember. The price is reasonable for the style of the place.... The style of the place is lovely. That's why I come, not because the food is awesome and super tasty..the food is pretty good, but it's the decor. I love the swingy chairs, all the stuff to look at when conversation gets boring, the bathrooms that are awkward, weird, creepy and unconventionally cool. This would be an awesome place to throw a party (or reception). So in summary: brunch + breakfast + swingy chairs + stuff to look at = very good. (The service is decent, and the wait usually is not that long...)
