by Alesia T. on When I arrived here, it was not remotely slow and relaxed like people described. There was a roudy line of people waiting at the door that wrapped around the block. A few people told us they had been standing at the front of the line for 45minutes. Whatever the reason, they were pricks about guestlist and cover, and I would have left if my friend didn't have a table. I also felt way overdressed. I probably would have fit in better if I wore a trucker hat, chucks, jeans, and a t-shirt instead. Crowd: -1 Star But there were a few redemptive factors that night. One of them was the DJ. He played AWESOME music. I only wish he wasn't so standoffish when we requested Lady GAGA. I suppose we did ask more than just once....(Who doesn't get repetitive after a bit of alcohol consumption?) but hey, we were just trying to eliminate this male-artist bias he had. (oh and he still never played any of her songs!). Anyway, Good music = lots of dancing = a decent time. +2.5 stars. The gallery itself (bestial-themed or not) was also a nice touch. People that don't dance or drink, but forced to go to these places, have something to do other than awkwardly stand around. For me, it was nice having something to do before the night officially started. +1 star Drinks: Their gin and tonic was one of the better ones I've sipped (at a club). +0.5stars All in all, there was never a moment where I was bored. I do intend to come back. Maybe on a slower night.
by Lisa L. on The patio area out back would be great for a private party...I'll definitely keep it in mind. There was a great mix of people there last night, which, as I continuously remind myself, is the reason I moved back to San Francisco.
