by Travis M. on I don't go "clubbing" all the time. I enjoy this spot when I do. I've never had a bad time here and the music always seems to be good. Saw Chris Clouse last night and had a great time. I would recommend getting on a list or getting their early (10pm) or bringing a gaggle of babes.
by Kenneth Alspaugh on I'm just going to pile on to all the reviews trashing this place because of the bouncer. My review is actually based on the outside of the place, seeing as how I wasn't allowed in. A friend of mine decided to have her birthday there and put a bunch of her friends on the guest list. It was my first time going there, and I headed over with 3 other guys (I don't remember if we weren't aware of the guy-girl policy or just thought we could get around it since we were on the list). We showed up and spotted a couple friends in line. When they asked us what we were going to do about the policy, the legendary bouncer overheard and said, "There's no way you guys are getting in." So much for that. Luckily, just at that moment, a group of 4 other girls showed up in line. One of us went over there and started chatting with them, and they agreed to walk in with us. But once again, our efforts were thwarted by the bouncer, who recognized us and told us he knew we weren't with them. They get in, we don't. At that point, the birthday girl shows up with her boyfriend. We relate our story and she goes to try to let the bouncer know that we're part of a large party. The reward for her efforts? She is now not allowed in since she's with us. The party of 30ish people ended up going to Swig down the street instead, and we had a really fun night over there. So Slide accomplished two good things that night: they sent me somewhere else where I had fun and bought plenty of drinks, and they narrowed down my options for places to go in the city.
