by Kristina L. on Oh, what an experience. We were here for two nights in a row for back to back Phenomenauts shows, and on the second night (the all ages night) it kind of flooded. Cue all of those corny jokes about how drinks were flowing or there was a sea of people or whatever else you wanna say to make people cringe. When we arrived on the second night, there were puddles on the floor, but there were also dry spots, so we assumed that some fools had spilled beer. By the middle of the first set, there were no longer any dry spots so we were standing around in about an inch of water, and they announced that a pipe had burst and that we ought to all head towards the back (ahoy! dry land!) so that they could fix the problem and clean everything up. So yeah, the show stopped while they took care of the mess. (Aren't you glad I didn't say it was a show stopper?) Luckily, the show continued within an hour. Yes, the drinks are good and decently priced. Yes, good bands play here. And yes, it's a cute venue with little nooks of seating and an okay sound system. However, I really have to give it up to them for handling the situation pretty well. It sucked that we were stepping around in water for awhile, and that they had to put the show on hold during the first set, but they kept it together, tried to mollify us with tasty fries, and we still ended up with a great show once the floors were dry. That's plenty of reason to give 5 stars, right?

Perhaps I already thought I had....but after the amount of booze I've consumed there I would have to question myself. Dranks..yes dranks.. are strong! So strong that making out with a gay man wearing a hello kitty tank top almost seems somewhat normal. The Queens are fabulosity defined, and certainly make me question my own cosmetic and fashion choices. Thanks to David K. for introducing me to this wonderfully quirky bar.. I will most certainly be back! Ps. take heed to Kathleen M.'s review.. most importantly numbers 1 & 5 !!!!
