Came here with a party of 14 for a birthday dinner. Pretty decor and the big Buddha was a neat addition. I half expected the food not to be great because I had the impression that this was another one of those expensive & gimmicky restaurants. I was surprised though that the food was pretty good and portions were plentiful. Favorites: Pork Potstickers Salmon Sashimi (special dish): Loved it. Almost didn't want to share this. Miso Glazed Chilean Seabass (entree) So glad I ordered this. Peking Duck Fried Rice: Yummy. Good for sharing. Mochi Dessert: Wow you get a lot. I cut it in half and we all had a nibble. Expect to come out with a full belly & lighter wallet. The only complaint I have though was that it's really loud in there. Music was incredibly loud (why?) and I was barely able to hear the person next to me talk and forget about anyone else around the table. Perhaps this is more suitable for parties of 2 or 4.

Let me preface this entire review with the fact that I don't really go out to clubs unless there's a DJ playing that I really want to see. With that said, I really had a great time at the Roxy (Armin van Buuren was playing - March 2009). I liked the layout and that I appreciated that there were places where you could just chill (i.e. upstairs on the balcony) and still get a fantastic view of the stage. The dance floor was packed and I didn't bother to venture out because I had all the space I wanted/needed upstairs. Reading the other reviews, I gather that this place is very different on a regular night versus a night that a big name DJ is playing. It was packed, but I didn't feel crushed like I have at other clubs like Pacha (NYC and Buenos Aires). Most of the people who were there that night were also big fans cause a lot of people knew the songs. It made it a great atmosphere. The door was a bit disorganized, but we had advance tickets and got in without too much hassle. Also, ignore most dress code requirements they have and just wear what you want. I'll never go in anything but sneakers again!

On a summer night, what a spectacular find in Manhattan. Yes, it's bar on a barge docked on the Hudson River. The mixed drinks and sangria were just average. I'd recommend sticking to bottled beer and heading to the roof, grabbing a table, and watching the sunset. It is soooo cool. (I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, intense conversation, a good sense of humor....) Uh, sorry, I got sidetracked.... Haven't eaten here yet, or stayed for the live music. Even still (or because of that), I can't wait to come back! http://www.rateclubs.com/us... http://www.rateclubs.com/us...
