by Melanie R. on I'm not a drinker. I start yawning at 11pm every night. I don't go out in the city...let alone in Meatpacking. But last night a friend extended an invitation and I figured that good company trumped the pretentiousness that I may be walking into. Fortunately, it did and overall I had a nice time. It did not however overshadow the disgustingly overpriced drinks - I had one cocktail...2 drinks + tip = $34. I could have instead gone to Forever21 and bought a dress. It also didn't drown out the INSANELY LOUD MUSIC!!!!!! I am trying to make my caps lock bigger so you can hear me OVER THIS MUSIC!!!! Especially considering there was no dance floor at this place, and people were just kind of moving around in whatever space they could find, there was no reason to have such loud music. I saw people eating dinner in the main dining room - but I have no idea how they may have been carrying on a conversation with this music blasting, and the drunk girls dancing behind them randomly. The extra star is because the decor is kinda cool, in a typical "original cookie cutter" MP asian fusion type way. Lots of pretty candles, bronze details, red glowy stuff. I think my favorite part was the bathroom which had little buddha handles on each stall door. Also, the $17 cocktail was yummy, though I question whether there was actually alcohol in it. Oh, prepare to see lots of way, way too short, too tight dresses with VPL.

It's literally packed to the brim on Sundays so if you want a seat you should get there a bit early. Great beer on tap, excellent cabbage (when they have it), always friendly, lots of neighborhood people. Date Rating: 2 Pick up Scale: 3 Strong Suggestion: Come here when you're in a casual, unpretentious, relaxed mood and melt away.
by Danial Cutchember on the jellyfish tank at the bar... sold me. pretty much the most amazing thing ive seen. the music here on sunday nights is really good. love the vibe. the place it self is so appealing. the outside patio is very alluring as well. love what you guys have done with the place. the creepy guys walking around herassing all my girlfriends... not so cute. we even told security how one guy was herassing them and he didnt really do anything about it. but overall.... you MUST check this place out on sundays.
