Ok, this place SUCKSSS! So "Hollywood", it's way too dark on the middle level and your sweating like a whore in church. The bartenders are rude and the lame bouncers are constantly screaming for people to move and shining their rent-a-cop flashlight in your eyes. If I saw one more girl who was a size 16 squeeze into a size 6 dress...I was going to scratch my own eyes out. Bad, gross, club...super ghetto.

Velvet Margarita is just the place to live down your twisted Elvis coma fantasies. If you don't get quite enough kitsch in your day-to-day, it's an ideal refresher course in tacky. Aside from the fun (and it is fun), there isn't much to say about this place. The food is more or less what you'd expect of Hollywood Mexican. I was here with a Mexican friend who warned us off the guacamole - refrigeration is a clear sign it's been sitting around for a while. The margaritas aren't bad, compared to average in the States. Maybe that's why I can't remember much about this place.... Still, the vibe is fun, and I wouldn't warn anyone off unless they were expecting great food. It's worth a trip, but not a devotion.

On a summer night, what a spectacular find in Manhattan. Yes, it's bar on a barge docked on the Hudson River. The mixed drinks and sangria were just average. I'd recommend sticking to bottled beer and heading to the roof, grabbing a table, and watching the sunset. It is soooo cool. (I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, intense conversation, a good sense of humor....) Uh, sorry, I got sidetracked.... Haven't eaten here yet, or stayed for the live music. Even still (or because of that), I can't wait to come back! http://www.rateclubs.com/us... http://www.rateclubs.com/us...
