A disclaimer: I have never really sat down for a full meal at Parish. I've been for drinks, appetizers, and even a wine-tasting class. I will happily go back for any of these things. I'm very happy with the service at the bar (staffed by true professionals and connoisseurs) , and the menu is a very nice take on N'awlins / Cajun fare. Downstairs they have a handy little carry-out market and a space they use for wine tastings and other events. Some day, I will actually be there for dinner. Sooner rather than later if you call and tell me you want some company. Say when.

Let me start off my saying I am giving one star for the food only. If I could rate service separately, I would give it 5. The service was amazing. Our waiter was great, patient, and the best I've had in a long time in Austin. Also as a side note, my friend and cousin got the chicken dish and fish tacos and loved them. I got the grilled shrimp and regretted it. I thought it would be grilled with a little lemon flavoring. No...it came out and I took a bite and it was SALTY. It tasted like it was rolled with ramen noodle seasoning. I was disgusted but proceeded to finish it as it seemed like a waste. I woke up with a dry mouth and a slight case of food poisoning. Never again. Chips were good. Black bean dip=okay but as a reviewer said, it's just eh. The regular salsa tasted like ketchup to me. He brought the "spicy" salsa later on and that tasted good but not in large quanities. I prefer Z'Tejas salsa anyday.
