by Deena S. on Loved Morimoto, but make a reservation and be prepared to do it in advance. It was a full house the entitre time I was there. Upon arriving we waited in the louge area upstairs. You can order drinks and food if you'd like. The look down stairs in the seating area was very modern and colorful. We tried the salmon sushi roll and it was delcious. I got the angry chicken which was spicy but moist and wonderful. My husband got the duck, duck, duck aand that was also fabulous. All of the staff was curteous and friendly making sure the whole time that we were satisfied. Go and try this place!
by Hung Shappen on I really don't know what to think about this place. I love the idea of a speakeasy, but Slide doesn't come through other than the name.... and well the slide. The drinks are pretty decent, but be prepared to pay L.A. prices to drink them.... Even though it isn't very "themed", the inside is nice enough. Although, if you are there on a weekend, you will not be able to sit down unless you or someone you know has purchased a table for that night. I didn't really catch onto this one at first, but it is an annoyance... sometimes i like to sit around and talk while i am having a drink..... the DJ played a ton of popular songs, but he only seemed to play about 30 seconds of each. I mean i am pretty sure that i have ADD, but this guy was REDICULOUS. literally, 250 songs were played in the 3 hours i was there. I think that the place could be more fun, but i don't know if the owners are really going to care, seeing as it is the same people who run Ruby Skye... they seem to have an endless supply of out of towners to keep them in the black, so i doubt anything will change anytime soon.
