Came to hear world-class Santana trumpeter Bill Ortiz for the early show. We got here 1 hour before showtime because we were so excited to savor the entire experience (including the southern grub). We started with yummy drinks, including a peach mojito which provided a nice fizzy unique sweet touch to kick things off. The tastebuds continued to be spoiled as the night rolled on, and our waitress was super accomodating to my "special needs" (=replace cole slaw with collard greens, replace biscuits with cornbread, serve our food to the VIP table once we moved over there, yadeyada). While my pulled pork was to DIE foah, I'm SO getting the brisket next time: o-m-gggggggg! Luckily I was able to snag a bite or two off my neighbor's plate: stuff that rich should be traded on some kind of exchange. 4 stars because it may be a smidge overpriced on the food side, and our neighbors wound up waiting too long for their food. But on my end, it was nothing short of paradise: comfort food, world-class music and dark, cozy, jazz-filled ambiance just right for snugglin'. But totally five stars if the world revolved around my narcisstic perspective!

I went here to see a friend play. The place is small. I think there was a part in the back with a DJ and a place to dance but it was really early and I don't think that part was open yet and I didn't go back there. The staff seemed friendly enough, the drinks were cheaper than a lot of places and the owner was going around taking pictures and just making sure everyone was having a good time. Overall, it was a nice place with with a more mature crowd (people in their 30s) and I will definitely be going back there.

A run-of-the-mill dive, but the boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab a snack/couple of beers after a lazy afternoon in central park. Nothing spectacular here, but the staff at the bar were friendly and we actually stumbled upon their Saturday night power hour (8-9pm, $1 domestic drafts!) Not bad at all considering the tab for 7 beers and (very mediocre) quesadillas was only $16!!!
