Not a big fan of places that I feel aren't worth a $20 cover.. especially more so when they try to charge $30 at the door for almost being at capacity. PSH!! It's always a tight squeeze and I hate the feeling of not knowing where the dancefloor begins & ends. Sometimes it can take forever to get a drink, and the smoking room hardly seems ventilated. I came here once for happy hour (don't even know if they do this anymore), and was actually surprised by how pretty it is inside. Would probably be nice to rent for an event, but don't think I'd ever come back on a clubbing night unless there was a REALLY good reason - like.. Ryan Reynolds was there, or something. Otherwise, count me out.

Wow, who knew I could recite entire N'Sync and Backstreet Boys songs. I really wish I hadn't known that these songs were tucked somewhere in the deep dark recesses of my mind. Too late now. But it's 111 Minna's (and Angela's) fault really that I even had the opportunity to find this out. Spice girls too? Seriously? WTF is wrong with me. And yes, evidently I DO live La Vida Loca should anyone be curious. This fly little gallery had a 90s party which brought out all these deep dark pop memories I'd long forgotten. I'm scared. Someone hold me. But what was I expecting at a 90s party? And as much as it's hard to admit... I was straight rockin' out to most of those songs. There is photo proof somewhere which should be destroyed. But the place knows how to throw a good party fo sho. Awesome 90's video montage with everything from Friends and Fresh Prince intros to Madonna and the good ol' OJ Simpson white Bronco chase. Themed parties can be hit or miss for me, and while the night started off quiet all of a sudden I was drunk, feeling my inner PM Dawn, and dancing with everyone in a sea of people. Oh yea, there's art here too, whoops. I think it was pretty rad stuff, but I should probably be back when I'm not so focused on my N'Sync lyrics. Plus 5 cool kid points for having $2 PBR since some bars even in the TL push it at $3. Until next time Minna *heads to iTunes for "Best of Backstreet Boys"*

My first visit was a Saturday escorted by a fellow rateclubser. We had to park a block or so away. The ambience of this lounge is fantastic. When you walk inside you enter the main area with a lighted marble (faux?) bar that is beautiful. There's a stalactite-like chandlier that hangs in the corner which changes color. There's a huge steel sculpture along one wall that has a pattern cut into it and is lit from behind with changing colors. I liked that there was seating for everyone, not just VIP. Upstairs is the DJ. This night he was excellent in the beginning, but near the end of the night he started mixing songs that weren't the best for dancing. Upstairs is more seating, some VIP, and another bar. Love the frosted glass, black furniture, and layout. There's no official dancefloor. Everyone dances upstairs where ever you find space. There's not a lot of space when people loiter with drinks, but hey, it works. I danced. I had a great time. I saw people aged 21 - 40(?), but mostly 20 and 30-somethings. No need to go formal on dress unless you want to - jeans are welcome. I enjoyed beer and wine, so I cannot comment on the mixology of drinks. And Halo has THREE bathrooms to help cut down on wait lines. That's worth 4 stars in itself!
