by Kevin E. on I was back in Philly last week and visited the Continental 3 times. They have great food, cool - hip atmosphere and a fantastic staff. Best in all the required catagories. Love the rooftop bar. Send you friends, you'll be a star.
by David Y. on Downtown will sometimes have it's more colorful areas. But luckily enough this establishment is located in an industrial area so you're safe as long as you don't get lost. This is an interesting space that hasn't quite decided on what it wants to be. Part of it wants to be a nice bar with a large selection. Part of it wants to be a lounge. Part of it wants to be performance art space. What you end up with is a combination of all three which is imperfect for any one event, but can host parts of each at any time. If you come here to watch a band you will either have a close and personal encounter or be unable to see the band. This accounts for the lack of a powerful sound system (it's simply not needed). The staff does dress up for the namesake and is fast and efficient enough for the job. Overall it's not a bad place and will be even easier to find once the Gold line is finished. However this is not an must stop on the grand tour of bars downtown.
