Major Failure. Ridiculously pompous, and horribly inappropriate bouncers and promoters. Too hot, too crowded, nasty fobby korean guys who have absolutely no chance with any girl who is of a different ethnciity. Demeaning booking. Get out of there fast. So much better places to go for a good time. Don't waste your time.

This is one of those places where everyone is just too cool to be bothered- Hollywood. Where ev-ery-body is posing to be somebody. The Roosevelt has two major things going for it: history and location. Trends come and go, the corner of Hollywood and Orange is forever. The lobby and other areas of the building still have the lingering mystique of old school Oscar winners, cigar smoke and starlets remembered, but the casting couch scenario is far less glamorous these days. The couches in the lobby however, were quite nice. I was not 'dazzled' by the room, the crowd, or the service, but the convenience was undeniable. Location trumped my need for character. And I guess a part of me just can't deal with LA. The attitude, the fraudulent and frivolous nature of it all. I'm never going to get a tan. People down there just don't respect me.

What's left to say? This is one of the best venues to see music, or any kind of stage show, in the city. Well, maybe not any kind of stage show... lets stick to music and cabaret.
