by Ashley Richert on So the Fierce crew and I went for another night out. This time we trekked up to the city for Style Wars at the Mezzanine. It is located in a sketchy part of town, but the cool thing is that the parking garage is located right next to the club and its gated so you felt better. We had a group of about 15 girls and everyone hadn't arrived yet, so they were good about letting us come back outside to greet the other girls and give them their tickets. The club is cool, its all standing room around the dance floor area (1st floor) and for this event of course they had a runway set up. We went upstairs to the second floor and we sat in the V.I.P. area which has a $100.00 minimum. With the size of our groups we killed that in no time. The only issue I had was that everytime the waitress put down a drink she was like "It's 7 bucks..right now" which was weird because I had never seen that before. Also one of our friends got charged a $20.00 minimum after she had already spent well over $20.00 in cash for drinks so they didn't let her know. The vibe was cool and the people that were there that night were interesting and cool! We had a blast and Style Wars was such a fun event!! This is the second time I'd been to Mezzanine, and I must say if you go, get one of the booths upstairs because if you are wearing your cute stilettos your feet will be sore. So get the upstairs section. Its great for a large crowd!!

For a group of 6 we ordered almost every first course, I think the favorites of the table were the porcupines and ahi burger. Main dishes come in small portions, almost same size as the first course. The filet mignon was ok, but the girls who got the miso-glazed salmon really liked their food. For dessert I got a tiny glass of Muscat wine. Overall decent food but had there not been entertainment, that meal would not have been worth even close to $44/person (and that's without any cocktails). Service was understandably slow (the girls have to serve as well as perform, and every seat in the room was filled) but attentive. The girls were fun and friendly, accommodating to our many photo requests, and they put on an amazingly entertaining and flashy show. I don't think I'll go back anytime soon as it's not really a place that I can imagine anyone regularly frequenting, but it makes for a fun memorable experience for any kind of dinner party.
by Jenny K. on I've been to Vessel for a couple of events during the week and have never been disappointed. The entrance is a bit strange, located on a small side street but once you walk in, it's a classy joint. The seating and floorplan at this lounge is top notch. You can lay 5-6 people on their huge ottomans and I like the tasty edibles on little trays that they serve gratis. Bartenders and waitresses are attractive, friendly and quick to the draw. They make sure your every need's fulfilled. This place has the unisex bathrooms going on. It's a little creepy to see a guy's reflection in the mirror while using the sink but I could get used to it.
