I give The Varsity a 4-star rating, not because it's terrific food or to be different from the average overall rating already. I give it 4-stars because I really do enjoy the place, both just coming here and eating the food. Sure, in general, it probably is a 3-star type of place. The food will probably kill you if you ate here multiple times over the course of a single year. I just ate here twice this last week. I hope not to have my heart clogged now; but it was convenient to the conference I was attending at GA Tech. The Varsity is an Atlanta staple/icon. If you have even the slightest liking towards fast food, this place is a must for you to visit at least once. They have enough items on the menu that would allow you to find something you would like. All the food is good. It just can be super greasy. I personally love the chili burgers, the onion rings (no one has onion rings this good), a fried peach pie, and a regular Varsity Orange drink (frozen is an option too). You can get all of that for under $9. I can live without the grease; but the food is really good when it's hot. The other great thing about this place over the years is the foods' consistency. If you eat a dog or a burger today, it will most likely taste the same 10 years from now. I think this, for me, is also one of the appealing things about eating here. I know whenever I come, I'm going to enjoy just being at the place and the food is going to taste the same and be just as tasty as the last time (previous year ;-) ) I ate here. I think a good thing too in not eating here more than a couple of times per year is the anticipation I have when I do decide to visit the next year. The service at the counter is quick and efficient. The order takers and food runners have their jobs down. Even if the line at the counter is long, which it can be, you will typically find it to move very fast. Their system for getting you your food works. The Varsity is an icon for a reason.

Great value for a $36 tasting menu. Lemonnana is minty deliciousness. Went with 4 people, got 11 different dishes. 9 of them were amazing. Highlights were the stuffed peppers, fried kibbe and the merguez. I wish I could shoot the hummus out of my index finger on demand.
