by Jessica V. on My review of Woody's is mostly based on the restaurant, not the bar. I lived in Royal Oak for six years, and Woody's is the place where my husband and I would go when we'd want some decent food at a casual place. The food is good, tastes like home cooking. I don't think I've ever tried anything I didn't like. Our favorites are the chicken caesar sandwich, the spicy shrimp appetizer, and my husband really likes the beef tips. The soups are good too. The service is usually very good, but there is one waitress we try to avoid--she's terrible. She practically glows from her fake tan, so she's easy to spot. We like going there to watch football games; we used to go to Mr. B's, but there was always obnoxious people there on game days. Woody's restaurant is a good place to bring kids too (but not to the bar, of course!). The night club on the 2nd floor is for the younger crowd. We occasionally like going on the rooftop for drinks with friends in the summer.
by Niesha Coldivar on Came here for the second time for the 90s party on Saturday (2nd Saturday of every month). Last time I came was in November. It was just as good this time. Actually more pop music this time. which I liked. Last time they had Backstreet Boys' "I want it that way," and this time they had Backstreet Boys, N Sync, and Britney Spears, and some other stuff that was familiar, and some not so familiar. Some people dress up in 90s attire, but they don't care if you don't. Cover is $10. We just found street parking nearby, which was good for us, because this time was just one block away. Since I love dancing, this was all good. People didn't have to wait too long at the bar for drinks either. There were pitchers for water on either side of the bar (the left room when you walk in). There are actually two rooms with two bars, two dance floorrs, two DJs that played different music. We stayed in the room to the left when you walk in since we enjoyed the music and space there. I will definitely be back to get my dance on. And loving that there is a diverse crowd there!
