by Chadwick Perrill on I may have been introduced to this restaurant at a Grant Park food event this summer. Or maybe it was the scoutmob coupon I signed up for in the summer. Anyway, my voucher was due to expire, and since this restaurant was on my list, due to you fellow rateclubsers, I decided to go this past friday night, instead of letting another scoutmob go unused. What an entrance and opening scene!! Great location, down a dark residential street, and very cool exterior/interior. I made my reservation via opentable, with a special request, and they actually obviously read the details and fulfilled it. Expected, but also unusual (you'd be surprised at how many restaurants don't read or yield to your requests). We arrived at 6:30 though we had a 7pm rez, and were immediately seated. Already the place was beginning to sizzle. You could feel the tension building. The menu is small, but diverse enough to suit most anyone. The wine policy is absolutely awesome. Several tiers of lists of 8 wines, priced by 1/2 glass, glass, bottle, and bottomless (good for several people drinking the same wine). Makes for great samplings, at $4-$7 for 1/2 glasses. Also, their corkage policy is fantastic---it's free for the first bottle, and then only $15/bottle. Since I was using a discount coupon, I didn't want to also bring my own bottle. I'm glad I didn't as we tried several wines. The caramelle pasta (sweet potato) was very ample, and rich. Appetizer portion was $10, and easily can be shared. My wife had the red fish, grilled, and thought it was excellent. The side vegetables already were smoked and/or herbed, and they would not substitute--too bad. My venison osso bucco was flavorful, though too dry. I enjoyed it while eating, but came to realize that I should have sent it back due to it's texture. I was told, and expected that osso bucco is moist, falls off the bone, and though it was venison, should have, could have been moister. Dessert was the caramel banana on almond crumble. Very inventive and tasty. All in all, a good experience, and we will return for sure. When we left at 8:20, the place was 95% full, and rocking. Definitely make a booking.

This place had great music ,nice ambience and it was pretty spacious and there were a lot of professional salsa dancers which left me open-mouthed all night.It's a great place to go learn new salsa steps and meet new people and have a good time. by Kelsey E. on Saturday Night - no cover cause someone in my party knew the bouncer. I came here a year ago and I think they are more picky on who they let in nowadays. If you want to dance, this is the place to go. The only sad thing is there were no platforms for me to dance on! The house mix was amazing, the crowd was generally attractive and ready to party. Aaaand there was enough room for me to break out my robot and all those great boy band moves I'm so in love with, so that was really a treat for everyone. And they are fully stocked with lollipops in the bathroom, so you know I'm a fan!
