Imagine you're at a backyard BBQ, and your handed a chili burger, chili dog, and onion rings. That were just dipped in a vat of oil before you received them. Welcome to Varsity! A staple of Atlanta, and proclaimed biggest drive in, it sits in midtown, across the highway from GT and close to office buildings in the surrounding area. Depending on when you step foot in this eatery, you're either met with the traditional "what'll ya have?," or 384 people in line. Lunch Mon-Thurs has maybe a 5-10 min wait in one of 10 register terminals, but come at night, on a weekend, or on a game day, and you'll find all 20 terminals have lines 20 people deep. Sheer lunacy. But, back to the food. My usual consisted of a #2 (Chili Burger, Chili Dog, fries), Onion Rings, and a FO (Frosted Orange). Food is limp and unimaginative, but at the same time, very comforting and savory. Is this possible?! Fries are limp, and onion rings drip grease but I can't stop eating it. Go for the atmosphere, get trapped by the food, leave on a stretcher. The end.

Eh. Vanguard. There's always a really long line outside which makes the place seem really awesome. It's aiiiggghht. I only came here on Asian nights, and while I appreciated getting in for free and not having to wait in line, I'm not impressed by this venue. Or maybe it's the people. But I'm a judgy NY'er and I judge girls who wear shirts as dresses and have their panties peeking out. Ahem, no class. But if you're into all that, come one, come all to Vanguard! Should I have expected anything else? Who knows. Yes, Vanguard is big and there's a nice patio area, but there are plenty of other clubs/venues that will offer a fun clubby scene without the, um, no comment.

One of our fave bars...love the location, it's totally hidden in an industrial area so there's tons of easy parking. They always have good shows and bands playing, and the interior is like a Catholic Church on major crack. This place reeks of sin.
