by Sophie H. on ok, being a girl that is always with other girls, we never wait in line so a half star for that. ooh, the interior looks nice, another half star. and the dj is pretty popping on some nights, half star...so far so good....wait eww eww eww a bunch of trashy uneducated (majority) degenerates humping, bumping and grinding? no thank you. hiro is filled with high school dropouts and masses of "girls/guys from the block" what a disgrace to asians. do not come here expecting eyecandy or even class. i did give it a try and i am thankful that i can always be picked to not wait in line even if it means being grrd by all the "girls from the block" who were ahead of me but go to circle for a more educated crowd or hit up avenue to party with models and stars...hiro is a last resort
by Jude Viguerie on I loved the original Velvet Room in midtown. Now they moved further up north next to a Big Lots--not that there is anything wrong with that. For some reason, my Asian friends want to go here. So I go with them when I have nothing else to do. It's okay. But I'll always remember the horrible service I received from The Velvet Room: * They hassled my friend that wore a t-shirt. He wore a freaking sports coat over the t-shirt and the t-shirt probably cost more than any collared shirt. * Not only that, they refused to take our free-entry passes since our name wasn't on the sheet. BS. * Other stuff that I probably forgot. They also play crappy top-40 stuff and rap. They don't have any diversity in their music. I have a feeling this place is gonna close down soon. And I hope that it'll happen so my friends won't keep dragging me to this place.
